Hygienic Coatings Lincolnshire

THE PROBLEM

The food factory ceiling was heavily stained and in locations supporting the growth of moulds. Following the a trial area and works elsewhere in the factory the client requested the application of our Corroflex Elastomer hygienic coating system

SOLUTION

All electrical equipment and surfaces not to be coated were masked off to protect them from damage and overspray. All surfaces to be coated were then clean using steam cleaners incorporating a fungicidal wash to kill mould spores present.

Following cleaning the climatic conditions were tested and recorded in order to ensure compliance with the material requirements.

Corroflex Elastomer was then applied in two coats at a total consumption of 1kg/m2 by method of airless spray. What makes Corroflex Elastomer so unique is that it forms an elastic membrane that can elongate up to 200% and it will not flake or peel. This makes this hygienic coating perfect for food factory environments where paint flakes present a major risk of product contamination.

Corroflex Elastomer contains an added Biocide that is safe for food factory usage but also proven to be highly effective in killing bacteria, moulds and fungi that come into contact with the coatings surface.

The flexible nature of Corroflex Elastomer also makes it particularly suitable for application to clad surfaces as it can tolerate the flexing that can be present in these materials.
