THE PROBLEM
The production area was suffering from low light levels and flaking paint on the corridor walls. A hygienic coating solution was required that would resolve these issues whilst also minimising future maintenance.
SOLUTION
We proposed the application of our proven Hygiene Coating Corroflex Elastomer. What makes this coating particularly unique is that it forms a membrane and is capable of elongating 200%, meaning that it will never flake like conventional paints. This makes this hygiene coating very suitable where product contamination is a concern.
Extensive temporary protection works were undertaken to protect the clients new resin flooring that we had also installed. Once protected surfaces to be coated were manually prepared to remove loose and flaking materials and vacuumed clean to remove dust and contaminants.
As part of our standard quality assurance climatic monitoring was instigated and recorded.
Applying the Corrolflex Elastomer
Corroflex Elastomer was applied in two coats at a practical coverage rate of 0.5Kg/m2. Once cured this forms an elastomeric membrane as well as having excellent adhesion, both preventing flaking.
Finally all gas and fire pipes were coated in the correct demarcation colours as per our clients colour scheme.
The client was especially pleased with the increased ambient light levels which significantly improved the factory working environment.
