Hydro Demolition Norfolk

THE PROBLEM

The leaking pipe was partly entombed in concrete as part of the buildings foundations. Removing the concrete with breakers or powered plant risked damaging both the building above and the pipe itself. More of the pipe was required to be exposed in order to allow proper fitment of the leak sealing clamp.

SOLUTION

Our client proposed the removal of the concrete required by method of Hyrdo Demolition.

We mobilised to site one of our Hammelmann Aquajet Hydro Demolition Units – supplied to us by Hydroblast.  These Ultra High Pressure Water Jetting Units are some of, if not the most reliable pieces of jetting equipment available.

Given the restricted access it was only possible to undertake hand lancing Hydro Demolition by our City and Guilds confined space trained operatives.

Processing the waste water

The waste water produced was processed using settlement tanks and filtration equipment already on site as part of the over pumping works. Correct treatment of waste water from Hydro Demolition works is essential to prevent damage to the environment.

The Hydro Demolition works were completed in one shift and the client was subsequently able to correctly install the clamping device.
