THE PROBLEM
The resin floor we had installed over 10 years before had become heavily damaged as a result of the heavy duty activities undertaken within the workshop.
SOLUTION
As requested by the client we were tasked with the resurfacing of the workshop for using a high build epoxy resin floor.
All of the existing coatings were removed using our HTC planetary diamond grinder to provide a clean and profiled surface for the new epoxy floor to adhere to.
To ensure the correct climatic conditions for coating application and curing heating of the workshop was arranged. The moisture content of the slab was checked using moisture meters as part of our standard quality assurance.
Areas of oil contamination were primed using Remmers Epoxy MT100 applied by method of brush and roller.
Remmers Epoxy HB Color was applied throughout, in different colours as required by the client. This was applied a heavy consumption rate of 0.5Kg/m2 per coat to provide a durable finish.
In the second coat rounded polymer bead was added to provide a light degree of slip resistance whilst not hindering ease of cleaning.
Finally the epoxy flooring was completed by the application of white demarcation lines using a fast curing polyaspartic line marker.
The works were completed in one weekend so as to prevent disruption to the businesses work activities. To accelerate the cure of the epoxy flooring Remmers accelerator was included allowing a quicker return to service.
Hopefully we will see this floor in another 10 years time !
