THE PROBLEM

The roof vent/fan on the food production factory flat roof was allowing water ingress into the production area below presenting a food safety issue and required an urgent resolution.

THE SOLUTION

We proposed the application of Remmers MB PUReactive as a suitable liquid roofing / waterproofing solution.

Initially the existing aggregate dressing on the flat roof was scraped back and the area cleaned to expose the area to be sealed.

The vent material was wire brushed and abraded to promote adhesion of the subsequent liquid roofing materials.

To isolate the joint between the vent and the existing flat roof material where movement was most liable to occur a self adhesive flash band was applied and perimeter sealed using a polyurethane jointing compound.

Remmers MB PUReactive was then applied, incorporating reinforcing fleece over the interface as prescribed for such areas.

Whilst not the largest project we have evert undertaken it was none the less a good demonstration of the excellent properties of this liquid roofing system.
