Ipswich Production Area Resin Floor

THE PROBLEM

The existing unit required a durable resin flooring solution as part of the change of use to a new production area as part of the business expansion.

SOLUTION

Initially the existing floor paint was removed by method of vacuum controlled track blasting. This also provides an excellent surface profile for the new resin floor to adhere to.

Following preparation cracks in the concrete slab were expressed using a vacuum controlled diamond saw. These were made good using a high strength epoxy mortar.

All surfaces were primed using Remmers Epoxy MT100 moisture and oil tolerant epoxy primer applied by squeegee and roller. Minor defects were filled and sanded flush to offer an improved finish for the new resin floor using a twin component epoxy filler.

Following filling the new resin floor was applied in two colours as required for demarcation purposes using Remmers Epoxyflex PH. This high build epoxy coating offers a degree of flexibility, offering improved impact resistance and crack resistance.

The total consumption allowed was over 1Kg/m2 to give a thicker and more durable coating to offer improved wear resistance.
