Dominos Pizza Polyurethane Flooring

THE PROBLEM

A new heavy duty resin floor was required as part of the refurbishment works in the dough production and tray in take rooms.

THE SOLUTION

Resdev Ltd’s materials had been specified and we were happy to use this specification as we have previously used there materials. We were involved at an early stage in the project and used our experience to help re-design the proposed falls with the main contractor to achieve a resin flooring programme that was achievable in the two week time frame.

Initially the existing resin floor was prepared by method of vacuum controlled diamond grinding to open the matrix of the existing MMA floor which would allow the epoxy primer to penetrate thus ensuring excellent adhesion. A quartz aggregate was scattered into the wet epoxy primer to promote adhesion of the subsequent polyurethane screed.

The existing coving was removed using vibration damped breakers and the substrate made good using Resdev Pumabulk. This excellent material was also used to install the new falls in the sub floor to the new stainless steel drains. Pumabulk is fast curing, easy to use and can be over laid without the need for a primer. This saves time and materials compared to epoxy and cementitious mortars.

Once prepared Resdev Pumadur RT polyurethane screed was installed using pin rakes and trowels to a thickness of 9mm. Expansion joints in the existing floor were reflected in the new resin floor to prevent reflective cracking.

Finally the new coving was installed to a stainless steel birds beak trim to ensure a seamless finish. A big thank you to the Corroless Eastern team for the excellent and hard work they put in to this project resulting in a happy client with this resin floor completed on time and in budget. If you have any resin flooring needs we have the solution to your problem.
