THE SOLUTION
Previously the works had been undertaken by others by method of abrasive blasting with the associated dust and mess this creates.
We instead proposed the descaling of the pump and its casing by method of ultra high pressure water jetting. This is completely dust free and has the added benefit of not profiling the surface as per abrasive blasting which in itself would encourage the formation of scale.
The works were completed in one 24 hour working period with two separate teams to fit within our clients tight shutdown period.
